What is the mileage limit for my rental?

Mileage is a common question for anyone planning to drive a lot, for example a long road trip or visiting several cities. The good news is that for most Agtran bookings, mileage is unlimited. The key thing is to know which applies to your booking, and that comes down to the channel you booked through.

Does My Rental Have a Mileage Limit?

It depends on where you made your booking:

So if you book with us directly or through Booking.com, you can drive as far as you like within Malaysia without a distance charge. If you booked through another platform, check your booking confirmation and rental terms, as a limit may apply to that booking.

What Does Unlimited Mileage Mean?

Unlimited mileage means there is no cap on the distance you can drive during your rental, and no per kilometre charge for the distance you cover. This is ideal for road trips and multi-city travel, for example driving from Kuala Lumpur to Penang, exploring the Cameron Highlands, or touring the east coast. You still return the car at the end of the rental period as agreed, but the distance itself is not limited or charged. If you booked directly with Agtran or through Booking.com, this is what applies to you.

What If My Booking Has a Mileage Limit?

If you booked through a platform where a mileage limit applies, your rental includes a set distance, and driving beyond it may add an extra charge per kilometre. The exact limit and the additional rate for your booking are set out in your rental agreement and booking terms, so check those for the figures that apply to you. If you expect to drive a long way, it is worth confirming your mileage terms before you set off, so there are no surprises when you return the car.

How to Check Your Mileage Terms

To find out what applies to your rental:

Planning a Long Trip?

If you are planning a road trip or visiting several places, mileage is worth checking before you book, not after. Booking directly with Agtran or through Booking.com gives you unlimited mileage, which is the simplest choice for long-distance travel, since you never have to think about the distance. If you have already booked through another platform and think you may drive a long way, check your mileage terms early so you can plan around them.

Is Unlimited Mileage the Same as No Rules?

No. Unlimited mileage means no distance cap and no per kilometre charge, but the rest of your rental agreement still applies. You still return the car within the agreed rental period, keep to the fuel policy (return the car at the same fuel level you received it), and drive within Malaysia and on permitted roads as set out in your agreement. Unlimited mileage simply removes the distance limit, it does not change the other terms of the rental.

For long-distance travel, unlimited mileage makes planning easy. You can explore our rental locations, including Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Ipoh, and book your car online directly for unlimited mileage.
