Going north, KL city centre is 45 minutes and Ipoh is roughly 2.5 hours beyond that. KLIA is genuinely one of the better places to start a Malaysia road trip from.

For vehicle choice at KLIA
if you're arriving solo or as a couple with carry-on luggage, the compact sedans are fine and handle the highways well. Families landing with checked bags and kids will be more comfortable in the SUVs, more boot space, more headroom. Groups coming in together should look at the MPVs, which comfortably seat seven and make more sense than coordinating two separate cars. Everything in the fleet is cleaned, serviced, and insured before each rental.
